What Our Alumni Say

Stories of Transformation

Being Head Girl made me, first of all, very confident in the value that I brought to the table. Because I led the entire school, I was able to stand on the validity of the decisions I had and lead with empathy, respect and confidence. It also helped me to become better at public speaking and persuasion, getting people to come on board on any project I launch. Almost a decade and a half later, I still refer to my experience as a head girl as it set the tone for public leadership for me. My life has been better for it.

Orifunke Lawal

Head Girl: 2010

I experienced so much emotional, social, psychological and academic growth as I served in this position. I had to balance it with school work which taught me to strike a balance in all areas in my life despite being a leader. My decision-making skills greatly improved and before I knew it, I became a good decision-maker even when it came to my own life. This was previously a bit of a problem. My perspective towards leadership was moulded into being a person of influence, I found many emulating me. I also became stronger emotionally as I encountered several experiences in my leadership position. I began making decisions from a rational point of view rather than just an emotional point of view.
