The Million Dollar Fundraising Masterclass for Leaders

I have raised millions of dollars in grants.
Money is not the problem. The problem is:

Why should you get it?

One LinkedIn message. No track record. One million dollars. In this live masterclass, I’ll show you exactly how funding really happens, and before we finish, you won’t just learn how to ask. You will send your message. Live. With me.

The problem in your words, not mine

When I shared the story of a message that changed everything, dozens of you wrote the same sentences:

AAmara O.2d

“I’m always afraid of asking.”

CChinonso E.2d

“I’ll send that DM.”

FFatima B.1d

“This is exactly what I needed.”

NNgozi A.1d

“Teach me.”

AAdaeze N.5d

“I’ve written this message so many times and deleted it every time.”

KKemi T.1w

“How do you even start when nobody knows you?”

Here’s what those comments tell me: you already know what you should do. You’ve drafted the message in your head a hundred times. What you don’t have is the structure, the confidence, and someone who’s actually done it showing you how.

That’s what this room is for.

The truth most fundraising training skips

Billions of dollars moved through foundations, CSR budgets and development funding last year. The money is not missing.

But funding doesn’t go to the neediest organisations. It doesn’t even go to the best proposals. It goes to the people, projects and organisations that can answer one question:

— why should you get it? —

Most training teaches you to write better proposals. I teach you what happens before the proposal, because by the time you’re writing one, the decision is mostly already made.

What we cover — the 3-hour arc

01Part One — Who gets funded

There is a who. Funders back the person before the proposal. You’ll learn the “They Don’t Know” Principle, how I showed up in the world’s biggest rooms while sleeping in a basement in New Jersey, and why your current conditions do not disqualify you. (If you’ve been waiting until you’re “ready”, this hour ends that.)

02Part Two — What gets funded

The Funder’s Value Equation, the silent calculation every funder runs on your organisation, written out for the first time. You’ll score yourself on all four dials and find your fastest path to becoming more fundable which, for most leaders, is fixable in weeks, not years. You’ll draft your One-Page Value Case: the 60-second answer to “why should you get it.”

03Part Three — How funding happens

The full story of the million-dollar message, where I was, what I wrote, and what happened next. Then the exact 5-line DM Framework for messages people actually answer, and the Follow-Up System that turns silence into yeses without ever sounding desperate. All partnerships are the same: introduction → nurture → trust → alignment → shared objectives. You’ll learn the whole lifecycle.

FinaleThe finale — Send it

You’ll write your real message, to a real person, using the framework — and we’ll press send together, live, in the room. You won’t leave planning to reach out. You’ll leave having done it.

Meet your facilitator

Abosede George-Ogan

Abosede George-Ogan has spent over twenty years on both sides of the funding table, first as the person deciding who gets funded, then as the founder raising millions of dollars herself.

Her career began inside the rooms most founders never see; from programme delivery at ActionAid International to managing corporate giving budgets of up to $3.5 million annually at FirstBank, Keystone Bank, and Samsung Electronics West Africa, she managed corporate giving budgets of up to $3.5 million annually deploying Smart Schools and Digital Villages worth over $1 million each across five African countries, funding scholarships for more than 20,000 students annually, and sitting across the table from hundreds of hopeful organisations. She learned exactly how funders think, because she was one.

Then she crossed the table.

As Director of Strategy, Funding & Stakeholder Management at the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, she helped grow a ₦25 billion ($170 million) fund by almost 10% and secured partnerships with local and global corporations and international development organisations. And as a director of fundraising for an organisation with no track record, she once sent a single LinkedIn message that became a $1,000,000 grant, the message this masterclass is named after.

Today she is the Founder of WILAN Global, which she has built over nearly a decade into one of West Africa’s most recognised women’s leadership institutions, funded by some of the world’s most respected funders. She created The Leading Woman Show, broadcast across Nigeria’s biggest networks with over a hundred million views, chaired the Gender Sub-committee of Nigeria’s Medium Term National Development Plan (2021–2050), and has advised governments, global institutions, and hundreds of founders on how funding really happens.

She holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, an MSc in Communications for Innovation and Development from the University of Reading, is an Eisenhower Fellow, a Vital Voices VVEngage Fellow, and the author of Building a Conscious Career. She doesn’t teach fundraising theory. She teaches what she has done from both chairs.

Why live, and why now

I could have made this a recorded course. I didn’t because the moment that changes people isn’t hearing my story. It’s sending their message with the fear still in their body in a room full of people doing the same thing.

That only happens live. And the live experience happens once: Saturday, August 29th.

Frequently asked questions

I’ve never raised funding before. Is this for me?

Yes, arguably more than anyone. You’ll build the right foundations before bad habits form: how funders think, how to position your work, and how to make the first approach with confidence.

Will I learn how to write grant proposals?+

This masterclass covers what happens before the proposal: credibility, positioning, relationships, and the outreach that gets you invited to submit one. By the time you write a proposal, the decision is mostly made. This is where it’s made.

Is this only for registered NGOs?+

No. Whether you’re planning a nonprofit, running one, or leading any social impact project, the principles are identical. (They apply to partnerships and sponsorships too, not just grants.)

I don’t have many connections. Can this work for me?+

Yes. The DM Framework was built for exactly this. The million-dollar message went to someone who had no reason to know the sender. You’ll learn how to open doors you weren’t born next to.

I’m afraid of reaching out. Will this actually help?+

This entire masterclass was built from comments like yours: “I’m always afraid of asking.” You won’t just hear about overcoming the fear. You’ll act through it, live, with the room. That’s the point of the finale.

Will there be practical exercises?+

Yes. This is a working session, not a lecture. You’ll complete your worksheets live, draft your real message, and send it before we close.

Can I ask questions during the session?+

Yes, there’s live Q&A, and a few participants will get their outreach messages coached live.

Will I get the recording?+

Yes, every registrant receives the recording. But the live experience (the coaching, the sending moment) happens once.

How long is it?+

About three hours, designed to move fast and end with action.

What if I’m not ready to apply for funding yet?+

Then you’re exactly on time. This is the preparation. Most people ask too early, with no positioning, and burn contacts they needed. You’ll leave knowing how to get ready and what to do first.

One last thing

Somewhere in your drafts, on your phone, or just in your head, there’s a message you’ve been afraid to send.

You’ve already paid the price of the no, every single day, in advance.

You’ve never priced the yes.

What if you get a yes?
